Artist statement

"The great outdoors is my studio.  Whether painting or sketching, I can see my subject, hear the sounds of the area, feel the sun on my face, talk with passing people and truly enjoy what I am doing.  I try to capture the feeling of the place rather than to paint the exact location". 

The sun-dappled quality of Vivian Cornwall's paintings is pure escapism, depicting surroundings in which one can happily place oneself. "Delightful, uplifting, happy, architecturally precise, a spontaneous explosion of color" all describe Vivian's watercolor and oil paintings.

Vivian has exhibited in many regional and national shows where she has consistently won awards.  Her work has been commissioned by the private sector, municipalities and corporations.
